BOAZ  MYHILL

WALES (One Off Goalkeeper 2010) v LUXEMBOURG Friendly 2010

At the start of the 2010-11 season, the FAW under their 6 year kit contract with JJB Sports, returned to Umbro as the kit suppliers. This is an unusual goalkeepers shirt, match worn by Boaz Myhill in the second half of the friendly game against Luxembourg, played at Llanelli's Parc y Scarlets Stadium on 11th August 2010, which saw Wales run out 5-1 winners. Myhill replaced Wayne Hennessey at half time.

This design of goalkeepers shirt is totally unique, because it is not actually the new Umbro goalkeepers shirt style that Welsh keepers are supposed to wear. Apparently the goalkeepers shirts had not arrived from the new kit suppliers so blank Umbro shirts with the Welsh Crest embroidered on at the last minute had to be used. The shirt does carry the players name to the reverse of the shirt, the first time in the countries history as well as the match detail print in Welsh under the newly embroidered Hearldic Crest, a truly unique shirt and a great addition to the collection. It is also displayed with Myhill's boots and gloves from the game, both of which are signed and will appear separately in other memorabilia sections on the site at a later date.
