Home versus Scotland 1977

Crystal Palace centre half Ian Evans home match worn shirt from the Wales Home International Championship game against Scotland, 28th May 1977. The classic Welsh Admiral tramlines shirt, displays all the differences from the horrible nylon replica's of the same style. Made from cotton, has the yellow and green tramlines applied onto the shirt -not incorporated into the material like the replica's- has the cloth stitch applied national Crest, to the centre of the chest and Admiral logo's to the fashionable wing collars!! plus of course the cloth yellow number stitched to the reverse of the shirt.

The goal less draw was Evans 10th of a 13 Cap Welsh international career, that was ended suddenly by an horrendous ankle fracture later in 1977. The shirt originated as a player swap with Scottish central defender Gordon McQueen. The black & white action picture shows Evans wearing this style of shirt in a match during 1977 and is copyright of Getty Images.
