COLIN PASCOE

Hummel Home (1987-90) versus Holland 1989

Colin Pascoe Wales Hummel manufactured home match worn shirt as a used substitute in World Cup Qualifying game against Holland at The Racecourse Ground, Wrexham on 11th October 1989. Pascoe wore the long sleeve number 14 shirt when he replaced Geraint Williams in the 85th minute, with Wales already two goals down. Full back Mark Bowen scoring a late consolation, 2 minutes after Pascoe joined the fray, but the Dutch held on for a valuable 2-1 win, in there quest to reach the Italia'90 Finals.

Pascoe earned a total of 10 Welsh caps between 1984 and 1991. Making his first 2 appearances in end of season tour games in 1984 whilst a Swansea City player, he had to wait over 4 years until he appeared in a Wales shirt again. His following 8 caps were gained as a Sunderland player, finishing his playing career in 1998, after a 2nd spell at Swansea as well as a solitary league appearance for Blackpool. His connection to the Swans has continued over recent years as a member of the coaching staff at the South Wales club but at the end of May 2012 he followed Brendan Rodgers to Liverpool when named as the Northern Irishmans assistant manager.
