GRAHAM MOORE

WALES (Home 1967-72) v ENGLAND Home International Championship 1968-69

This all red Umbro home long sleeve Wales shirt was worn by Graham Moore in the Home International Championship match against England at Wembley Stadium on 7th May 1969. The shirt is unwashed, with some Wembley mud still visible on the back, and came from the personal collection of Manchester City legend Colin Bell, with whom Moore exchanged shirts at the end of match England won 2-1.

It is a Umbro Aztec manufactured shirt, made using the Umbro Tangeru shrink resistant cotton, the plain red style used by the Welsh team between 1967 and 1974. This particular shirt has the larger Heraldic Crest used on these shirts until 1972. A small size Crest was then used on the same style shirt between 1972 and 1974.  The Umbro "Choice of Champions" printed logo appears on the back bottom right hand side and the cloth, stitched applied numbers to the reverse. I purchased this shirt at a Sporting Gold auction in 2008 and it comes with a signed letter from Colin Bell confirming the shirts provenance.
