DAVE EDWARDS

Home (2007-08) versus Germany 2007

Dave Edwards home worn and unwashed full debut shirt, for the Euro 2008 Championship Qualifying match against Germany in Frankfurt on 21st November 2007. The new style, first used against the Republic of Ireland 4 days before, was the last Kappa style used by FAW before moving to Champion in August 2008. The Republic of Ireland game saw Dave come on as a first half substitute replacing the injured Carl Robinson in 37th minute. Then four days later in Wales final Euro 2008 Qualifying game against Germany, making his full debut- starting the game- where Wales gained a well earned point from a goal less draw.

The shirt is a little grubby and the vics vapour rub stain is clearly visable to the front centre of the chest. Strange timing, to release a new strip in November 2007, as it was only used in 4 games until May 2008 -the yellow away strip in only two. A striking shirt, and in my opinion the best design kappa produced for Wales, thats why its such a shame it saw limited use, due to the change of manufacturer. This shirt carries the match detail print under the National Crest "YR ALMAEN 21-11-2007 GEM 556", and the correct Euro 2008 pvc vinyl sleeve badge to the right arm.
