Wales Home (2007-08) versus Luxembourg friendly.

This is a very special shirt in the international career of Simon Davies, his 50th International appearance for Wales. The new and last Kappa design -and surely the best style- used by FAW before moving to Champion in August 2008. The record achieving 50th cap was reach in the international friendly, 2-0 win, against Luxembourg in the Stade Josy Barthel, Luxembourg City on 26th March 2008. Playing his land mark 50th cap, Davies became the 28th player in Welsh international football history to reach the "Gold Cap" milestone.

The shirt itself carries all the specifications that confirm it as a players shirt, with all the differences from that of a replica of the same design. Strange timing, to release a new strip in November 2007, as it was only used in 4 games until May 2008, this being the third time -the yellow away strip in only two. A striking shirt, and in my opinion the best design kappa produced for Wales, thats why its such a shame it saw limited use, due to the change of manufacturer. The shirt carries the usual match detail print under the National Crest as seen on Senior team players shirts, "LUXEMBOURG 26-03-2008 GEM 558", but to mark the occasion for Davies -who also captained the team for the match- the shirt has been printed with a subtle "50" above the national crest and Simon has also signed it across the front "best wishes". The shirt was obtained directly from Simon by an official of a Premiership club from where i purchased it.
